Hello, I'm Kris!

I've been making art for as long as I can remember. Once I was old enough to hold a crayon, all I had an interest in was drawing. A few years later, my dad passed along his love of history, and by fourth grade my teacher introduced me to genealogy. That was all it took. I was hooked.

Looking back, it's kind of funny how those three interests—art, history, and genealogy—have quietly shaped almost every chapter of my life.

Many people know me from my years on Ghost Hunters, Ghost Hunters International, and Destination Truth. Those shows gave me the opportunity to explore incredible historic locations, travel to places most people never get to see, and meet some amazing people along the way. More importantly, they allowed me to keep feeding the same fascination I'd had since I was a kid: discovering forgotten locations and learning the stories that made them worth remembering.

Even while I was traveling and filming, art was never very far away. After high school, life simply got busy. Between work, television, and everything else that comes with being an adult, creating slowly slipped into the background. It wasn't because I stopped loving it—it just wasn't getting the time it deserved.

Returning to art professionally has been something I've wanted for a long time, and finally making that leap is nothing short of exciting and a little intimidating.

Today, everything feels like it's come full circle. The places I explore, the history I research, and the stories I uncover have become the inspiration behind my artwork. I'm focusing on oil painting as my primary medium while continuing to enjoy pen & ink, pencil, charcoal, and occasionally seeing if I can convince a lump of clay to cooperate.

Here you will find my original artwork, prints, and—before long—a Mail Club filled with art, stories, and a few surprises. Many of the places that inspire my artwork will also be featured on my YouTube channel, where I tell the stories behind the places that inspired each piece.

This feels less like starting over and more like returning to something that has always been a part of me. I'm excited to see where this path leads, and I hope you'll come along for the ride as I continue exploring remarkable places, uncovering forgotten stories, and turning the inspiration I find into art.
